Get it right. Do it well. Make it stick
My passion is to encourage teachers and children to think like mathematicians, rather than just 'do' mathematics.

BRAND NEW!!!

Weekly support with your Maths Leadership
so that you've always got a place to go to get help when you need it.
Giving you the option to touch base every week, or just come and join in the group coaching session when you have a particular issue.
For example you might want to use the sessions to:
Take the time to step back
Bring questions about your maths development
Work through frustrations you want to thrash out
Discuss ideas that are in the early stages of development
Raise questions about how to approach particular areas of maths
Iron out concerns about how to support your colleagues
 Even just have 'circle time'!

.... frankly anything to do with maths!
What I Offer...
Whether you need support with your existing strategies for maths in your school, you're considering a change in approach, or you have just started to implement a new strategy, I am here to help.

In School Support
I spend a lot of my time working alongside teachers in the classroom, this is a really powerful way to work. Contact me if you think some joint planning and teaching  would have an impact in your school.
Maths Subject Audit
Identify the issues, implement actions and measure the impact. We will work to understand where you are now, where you want to get to and how we're going to get you there.
CPD
I've spent the last 20 years designing and leading CPD for primary schools in the Wiltshire area. If your school (or group of schools) wants some specific guidance with anything to do with  maths, just ask.
Mastery Approach - Next Steps
Recently I have been working with an increasing number of schools who have implemented a mastery approach, and just needed some extra guidance to really make it work for them. If you'd like some help, let me know.
"Everyone found (the TDD) really valuable and I have already seen some of the strategies put in place. Thanks for everything this year it's been great working with you"
- Broadmeadow Infant school
I have worked in education for over 25 years. I have taught from Key Stage 1 to 4 and was a local authority mathematics consultant for more than 12 years.

Now I work as an independent consultant continuing to support and challenge primary schools to improve teaching and learning. My passion is to encourage teachers and children to think like mathematicians, rather than do mathematics.

I have written a variety of mathematics resources over the last 16 years including targeted pupil activities, ideas for teachers, CPD resources for international use, and more recently, maths games books, multiplication tables books and exciting mathematics modules linked to picture books. To have a look at the resources I've been developing here.

Through my role with various organisations, transition projects and partnership trusts I have been working with teachers to ensure fluency, reasoning and problem solving are effective throughout their school.
"Great course! All 3 days really useful with plenty of ideas to take away and use in school!"
- 3 Day Maths CPD
"Thank you for another useful course. We have taken lots away that we will implement immediately and lots we
can use for next year."
""I just wanted to thank you for the great training day you did for us last week. It was just what we wanted - and needed - and the team were really inspired
to go straight ahead and use
lots of your ideas."
"Clear progression of skills and how to apply in own class. Lots of support with resources!"
Summer Term - Whole School Audit Package
For Local Schools*
The next academic year will be here before you know it!
Get ahead of the game and identify strengths and weaknesses in your maths teaching and learning, to hit the ground running when September comes.

Not only will we explore the areas of maths that you would like to change, but we will work together to implement key actions that will really make the difference.

The best way to make a sustainable improvement is to not only to identify and implement the right changes but to keep track of the impact, and make sure everyone is on the same page. Building in a cycle of improvement, with CPD and Follow Up sessions, ensures teachers feel supported through the period of change or transition.

It is important to book in time to revisit and review the things you put in place in order to keep moving in the right direction by building on effective practice.

The package I have put together for local schools* covers all of these essential aspects of improving maths in your school:
  •  1 Day Audit and summary report - Term 6 (£500)
  •  1 Day CPD Based on findings - Term 6 or 1 (£750)
  •  Half a day Follow Up with Subject Leader - Term 1 or 2 (£300)
  •  Staff meeting - Term 1 or 2 (£175)
  •   Ongoing email support (Priceless!)
